Regarding the success of the karaoke party, I think it would be a nice idea not to limit people to Japanese songs. We request that they do Japanese songs, but understand if they don’t speak the language/aren’t comfortable, etc. I heard a lot of positive feedback about this from the karaoke party.

It's one of my pet peeves -- Do not take offense.
It's a common mistake, since it's pronounced so much differently in English.
