Anyways, I think chess can be better than ever this year! It was received very positively last time! I know the plans of myself and a few others, and I definitely would like to participate. Keeping the theme broad will also help when pieces are filled in short notice.
Do we want to make a new board this year? Do we need a group work day for it?

I'm not sure if we necessarily need to make a new board. We'll have to check on it to see how it held up over the year in storage. Overall, I think it worked pretty well on the carpet. My only criticism of of it is the colors. I'd have rather had them be traditional chessboard colors, but it's a really, really minor quibble. The only issue with that is going to find the proper colored tarps.

Yeah, it did work well! I was just curious if it "survived" the event last year.
I'll keep an eye out for different colored tarps in the event that we do want to do it over.
